  • George Franklin Salmon born July 1890. His father was George Wingfield, but he was at sea when George was born so took mothers name. His mother and father married shortly afterwards. He died of the effects of gas in 1919. Worked for the Hastings Gas & Light Co. after the war. He has a CWWG stone but his wife, Mable would not let him be buried in the war graves section of Hastings Cemetery.

  • Hello. George and Mabel were my Dad’s great aunt and uncle. Any more information you have about them would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Danielle, Thank you for taking the time to comment. It seems that George and Mabel often sent correspondence to the paper, so I'll add any further information I find here. Kind Regards, Kieron.
