John Griffin’s service number was SD 1337.
His wife Elizabeth Jane Boxall Hemmings was a half sister to Emmanuel Gasson who served in the Royal Sussex regiment. His involvement with the Salvation Army Citadel in Hastings included him being a bandsmen with their senior band. John and Elizabeth had three children Annie, John and James.
John Griffin was my great grandfather.
