Other Info: According to CWGC, Horace died aged 36 on 22nd October 1918 whilst at the shore training establishment HMS Victory X. Horace is remembered at Haslar Royal Naval Cemetery, grave reference E.35.5.

    According to his service record (if this is the same Horace Theodore Thomas, born Woolwich, born April 1895), he never served on HMS Edgar; only ever posted to HMS Pembroke then the Vanguard.

      Hi WyS, that’s interesting. On searching CWGC again, using Horace rather than ‘H T’ I found a second Horace Thomas, 1st Class Stoker, who was died whilst on HMS Victory X in 1918. This man lived in Hollington so must be his portrait above. I will update his details. Thank’s for pointing this out, I’ll be more thorough with my research going forward!
