George Apps, born Sept 27, 1894 is the son of Elizabeth Apps of Ditton, Kent, the grandson of William Apps of Brede, Sussex, who lived at 4 Queen’s Road in Hastings, Sussex according to the 1911 Census in Ancestry. It would appear that George left England and headed to Canada in 1913, where he signed up with the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force in Quebec in 1914, According to his Attestation Papers, his RN is # 6172. His next-of-kin was his mother, Elizabeth Apps who lived at 28 Waldegrave St, Hastings, Sussex, which matches the 1911 Census information in Ancestry.
