Fredrick Stubberfield was my maternal grandfather. I would love to know more about his army service, & where & when he was wounded. I can remember as a child his facial scars & knew he’d been wounded in WW1 but that’s all I know.

Hi Roy. I’m unable to provide specific information but 2nd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment was part of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division of the regular British Army that landed in France in August 1914. The 1st Division saw action at Mons in August and took part in the battle of the Marne and Aisne. Frederick was likely wounded in one of these battles. More reading here: http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/army/order-of-battle-of-divisions/1st-division/. Kind Regards, Kieron

Thank you so much for that. That certainly gives me something to look at & more idea of where this may have happened . Once again thank you so much.
    Regards
    Roy
