George Allen ( born 1880 ) in Ore, East Sussex is my grandfather and he was killed in action in France on October 28th 1918. George had just returned to the front after being invalided out and due to the shortage of troops was made to return where he was killed a few weeks later and just two weeks before the armistice. My father, John ( Jack ) Mandat Allen was George’s youngest son, he was one of four children, Glagys, Peggy and George. George was killed in the second WW serving in Egypt. My name is Philip John Allen, ( born 1954 ).
