Frederick Victor Cornford was my Grandfather. He & his wife, Hilda Crouch, moved to Newport, Gwent, after WW1 where my mother, Margaret Naomi & her sister, Patricia May, were born. Frederick worked on the railways. He went into local politics & became Mayor of Newport in 1955. He was also a respected JP in the town. He died in September, 1964
