I believe this is the husband of Kate Elizabeth Playford

Although he is on Tyne Cot Memorial he died several miles away. Based on Battalion records he was very likely killed at Elzenwalle Chateau which is on the Kemmel Hill part of the salient.

Battalion was defending against the large German Spring offensive launched south of Ypres. Based on battalion war diary it was largely wiped out during the fighting at this time and then disbanded.

    His wife never remarried.
