Other Info: “He was killed in action at the Battle of Arras on 28th April 1917. By his side is the portrait of his daughter, May, found in his pocket on the battlefield. On the right is a photograph of the widow and her six children left to her to bring up. The youngest are twins.

According to CWGC, John died aged 39 on 28th April 1917. He is remembered at the Arras Memorial, Bay 7.
