John Henry Jack Vigor was born in Hollington, St Leonards on Sea, in 1885, the son of Albert, a grocer, and his wife Sally, and was one of ten children.
He enlisted in the Australian Army in March 1915.
In 1920 he married Ethel Knight in New South Wales. He died in 1966 in New South Wales.
