Arthur Cecil Ticehurst

Arthur Cecil Ticehurst

Rank: Major

Regiment: Royal Engineers

Address: Battle

Other Info: Text reads; “…whose name appeared in the list of New Year military honours, he having been awarded the Military Cross. It is a thoroughly merited recognition of hard and continuous work at the Front, where the Major has been in command of a local Company of Engineers for the past two years. Early in the War he raised the Company in Hastings and Bexhill, and proceeded to France towards the end of 1914. His ability as an Engineer Officer was speedily recognised, and he has been placed in charge of important works. He has always show the greatest solicitude for the welfare of his men and this regard has been warmly reciprocated. His many friends in Battle and Hastings are highly delighted at the honour which has been conferred upon him…”
