Percy Beney is my grandfather. He was injured while serving. He had loaded a vehicle and jumped on the running board. As the vehicle was moving, the running board gave way and his leg went under the wheel. Percy had the leg injury all his life. I have a letter from 1945 where my grandmother spoke about Percy’s leg being bad.
