Other Info: First names obtained from the Lives of the First World War website. According to CWCG Herbert died aged 18 on 4th April 1915. He is remembered at the Port Said War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt, grave reference G. 11.

*Please note that there is some conflict in the records available and the information supplied to the paper with the photos above. Herbert served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserves according to CWGC. It’s possible that the paper mixed up the photographs with the information sent in with them.
