Other Info: Stephen was killed in action on the 15th September 1916 at Flers-Courcelette during the third stage of the Battle of the Somme. The family lived at Silvester Road in Bexhill. Two of his brothers were also lost during the Great War, Percy (already in this collection) and Leonard and his three other brothers also served in the war. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial, pier and face 7D and 8D and on the Hastings Town Hall Roll of Honour.
