Other Info: In Mesopotamia. An article published in the Hastings & St Leonards Observer on 3rd October 1914 reads: “News has come to hand that Gunner Ernest Wellerd, Royal Field Artillery has been wounded in the toe. Mr Wellerd is the son of Mr and Mrs Wellerd of 4, Halton Crescent. He is in a German hospital, and writes that they are very kind to him.”
