Other Info: A wedding of considerable interest took place on Wednesday February 6th 1918 at Christ Church, St Leonards, by the Rev. G. W. Douglas… The groomsman was Private Lawrence Charlton of Ontario, Canada. The bride wore a dress of Georgette with wreath of orange blossoms and veil and carried a sheaf of lilies. The bridesmaid was Miss Dora Baxter, Hilside, Braybrooke Road. Her dress was silk eolienne with over-dress of Maltese lace. The bridegroom’s gift to the bridesmaid was a gold wish-bone brooch with pearl centre. The happy couple subsequently left for Bristol for the honeymoon.
