(August 1916) – A pretty khaki wedding was celebrated at St John’s, Upper St Leonards on Wednesday last week. Lieutenant F Geary, Home Counties Brigade, Royal Field Artillery was married to Catherine Annie Thorpe of 23 St Peter’s Road, St Leonards. The ceremony was performed by the Rector, the Rev G Eden King. Among those present besides the relatives of the bride and bridegroom were Lieutenant Hocking also of the Home Counties Brigade, RFA and the staff of the Silverhill Council School, where Lieutenant Geary was assistant master before receiving his commission last November. Lieutenants Geary and Hocking are both under orders for India.
