Other Info: Text reads: … He has just been gazetted First Lieutenant, dating from June 2nd (1915). Lieutenant Willis went to France in July, and has been organising and training bombing parties for the Battalion and commands a company of picked me for that purpose.

According to CWGC, Edgar died aged 25  on 13th July 1916 and is remembered at Peronne Road Cemetery, Maricourt, grave reference I.G.23. Additional name information from the Lives of the First World War website.
