Other Info: Prisoner of War. Eight trawlers from Boston, Lincolnshire were sunk by a German flotilla led by light cruisers Rostock and Strassburg on 21st August 1914. The fishing crew were all taken prisoner before the boats were sunk. More information can be viewed here.

Other Info: According to CWGC Frederick died aged 39 on 21st July 1915. He was serving aboard the HM Trawler Briton when it struck a mine in the Thames Estuary. 11 crew were lost. Frederick is remembered at the Chatham Naval Memorial, on panel 9.
