Other Info: An article published in the Hastings & St Leonards Observer on 12th October 1918 reads; “Private Fred Bames, Machine Gun Corps, missing since April 15, 1918. His wife, 217 Priory Road, Hastings would be glad to hear of him”

According to CWGC, Frederick died aged 32 on 15th April 1918. He is remembered at Ploegsteert Memorial on panel 11.

According to CWGC, William died aged 19 on 22nd May 1918. He is remembered at Chauny Communal Cemetery Extension, grave reference 1.L.2.
