Other Info: According to CWGC, Charles died aged 43 on 6th June 1920 to an illness contracted whilst on war service. He had moved to the 7th Battalion and achieved the rank of Lance Corporal when invalided out of the army in September 1917. Information from here. Charles is remembered at Lewes Cemetery, grave reference Western II.YQ.18.

Other Info: On Active Service. According to CWGC, Archibald died 36 on 12th September 1917. He was a recipient of the Military Medal and is remembered at Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe, grave reference I.V.32.

*Archibald’s name is spelt ‘Murdock’ on CWGC and Hastings War Memorial.
