Other Info: According to CWGC, George died aged 23 on 1st January 1916. He is remembered at Herne Bay Cemetery, grave reference T.38. This webpage provides the following information about his death: “Private Puttick was severely wounded by shrapnel and injured in the spine on the 7th December at Messines, in cutting barbed wire. He had since been in hospital at Herne Bay, where he had received every kindness, and had borne his illness with great fortitude. He succumbed to heart-failure and paralysis consequent on the injury to the spinal cords”.
