Other Info: Second Corporal Egbert A Bumstead, R.E., who has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal in France. He enlisted in 1913 and went to South Africa. From there he was recalled in 1914, and went straight to France, where he has served ever since continuously in the fighting area. He is a native of Hastings, educated at the Clive Vale School and served an apprenticeship with the Hastings Gas Company.
