Other Info: The text reads “… The first (portrait) was taken on Salisbury Plain, when he was training there with the 3rd Canadian Battalion, and the second was taken at Wiesbaden, Germany, in September of the present year, he being a prisoner of war.  Mr & Mrs Kent have two other sons serving, one in the Sussex Engineers and the other in the 1st Canadians. They are old townspeople, having lived in Hastings or the district all their lives. Mr Kent is a fisherman.

According to CWGC, William died aged 31 on 10th November 1920. He is remembered at Vancouver (Mountain View) Cemetery, grave reference Jones.45.21.15.
