Other Info: Of the Canadian Expeditionary School, who has contributed a special article on “The British Empire” to “Onward” the local organ of the Y.M.C.A, In the course of the article Private Kerrish says: “Our Empire is today passing through the most critical and cardinal epoch in all her long and glorious history, and in the years which will immediately follow it the people in the homeland will look more and more to the great dominions across the seas, and we of the Colonies will in our turn feel for that close union of mind and heart which will spring from the closest social and commercial intimacy. Canada, of all the Colonies, will be in the forefront of this Imperial policy, which will knit closer and closer the bonds of our composite Empire in the ties of loyalty, honour, justice, liberty and peace”.
