Other Info: Jabez Nquza died on 21st February 1917. He was aboard the SS Mendi when is was struck by the SS Darro near to the Isle of Wight. One of 646 men to have perished in the incident, Lance Corporal Nquza’s body was recovered off the coast of Hastings in May 1917. He is buried at Hastings Cemetery.

Nagle, formerly in R. H. A.; contracted consumption in France and died at his parent’s residence at 44 Sedlescombe Road North, St Leonards.
