Other Info: Enlisted with the late Captain J W W Nason on August 28th 1914, in the RFA. Proceeded to France August 1915. In action at Loos, Vermelles, Aubers Ridge, Ypres, Elverdhinge and in the Somme (August 1916 to February 1917. Recommened for a commission in February 1917. Engagements at the Somme were at Moutabon, Trones Wood, Gillimont, Guincy, Les Beoufs, Gombles, Reincourt, etc. He very luckily came through them all without a scratch.
