Other Info: Is reported as drowned in the Mediterranean. He was a well known cricketer, and played for Battle. According to CWGC, Thomas died on 15th April 1917 and is remembered at the Chatby Memorial, Egypt.

Other Info: The marriage took place at Westfield Church on 18th April 1917 with the Rev J Morgan officiating. The bride, who wore a pretty white silk dress, with orange blossom, looked charming, and was attended by two bridesmaids, one her sister Daisy Beatrice, and the other Miss Winnie Edwards. Both of these young ladies wore white silk dresses and silk hats. Mr Hayward gave his daughter away, and the bridegroom was attended by Sergeant Coombes, CC as best man. Several members of the bridegroom’s Company were present, and gave the happy couple a rousing send off as they left the church.
