Other Info: Son of the late William Plester of the 17th Leicester’s. Formerly of the 1st Hooe Scouts. According to CWGC, William died aged 17 on 16th July 1915. He is remembered at Hooe (St Oswald) Churchyard.

Other Info: It seems that Charles died on 7th October 1916. According to CWGC he is remembered at the Thiepval Memorial, on Pier and Face 7C.

Other Info: Wounded at Ypres, now in Hospital in Liverpool. Awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for gallant and conspicuous bravery during the Battle of the Somme. He has been three times wounded.

Other Info: Lost his life on HMS Aboukir when it was sunk, along with sister ships HMS Hogue and HMS Cressy, by German submarine U-9 on 22nd September 1914. He was one of 1,459 seamen lost in the incident. He is remembered on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial, on panel 4.
