Other Info: According to Lives of the First World War, the only individual named Mark Smale serving with the Army had Alfred as their first name. It is likely that this is the same person shown above. According to CWGC, Alfred Mark died on 9th May 1915. He is remembered at Le Touret Memorial, on panel 20 & 21.
