Other Info: At the Hastings Town Council meeting last Friday the Mayor (Councillor W Perrius) presented the Military Medal to Corporal F C Elms of A.P.W.O. Yorkshire Regiment. The medal was awarded for gallantry in the field, for Corporal Elms had on several occasions been mentioned in reports, especially for, with only six men, holding an important position. The lower picture shows the gallant corporal’s family, Mr & Mrs J Elms (father and mother) being in the centre, on his left Corporal W H Elms of the same regiment, his wife and baby. Corporal F C Elms is seen wearing the Military Medal and next to him is Miss Annie Lamb, Mrs Fellows (sister), whose husband in fighting in Italy, and Master Leonard Elms is between his parents.
