Other Info: Leslie was a drapers assistant for Pearch & Simmons George Street, Hastings.  He sang in the church choir at All Saints Church.

Leslie signed up in November 1917 and joined the London Rifles.

On 24th August 1918 – aged just 18 – he was killed by a shell landing nearby.

Leslie is buried in CWWG at Bray Hill British Cemetery, Bray-sur-Somme, grave reference 1.A.9.

Other Info: Born and lived in Hastings until emigrating to Canada just before the war. His mother, brother and sister all still lived in Hastings. His mother was Lucy Weston, brother William and sister Lucy.

According to CWGC, Harry died aged 36 on 8th October 1916. He is remembered at Adanac Military Cemetery, Miraumont, grave reference V.D.27

Other Info: The marriage took place quietly on Wednesday last week, from the house of Mr and Mrs Arthur Pearson, uncle of the Bride, at Holy Trinity Church, St Marylebone, London. The service was taken by the Rev. Alfred S Menzies, Vicar of the Church of the Holy Cross, Burley-on-the-Hill, Rutland, the bride’s uncle and godfather, assisted by her granfather, the Rev. A Cyril Pearson. Captain Shaw, though still lame, is happily recovering from the wound received in action at the Front. Nearly 100 handsome presents were received.
