This is Charles Forrest Brooker. He was the eldest son of George Herbert Brooker, ironmonger, of 40 Norman Road, St Leonards, and was born 31 Oct 1894 in the county of Durham.

In the absent voters’ list for 1918 at 40 Norman Road he is given as MMP, Military Mounted Police, as Charles Horace Brooker, an evident mishearing of Forrest.

In the 1939 Register kept for rationing purposes he was at 10 All Saints Crescent, Hastings, with his wife, managing director of a builder’s merchant, having taken over from his father.

He died 8 Jan 1980, Sussex House, 110 Marina.
