    This is Ernest James Apps L/9865 2nd Battalion Royal Sussex b1893 in St. Leonards

    I believe the reference to his father ‘J Apps’ is James Apps b1868 Sedlescombe.

    In 1911 they were both living in Hollington Old Lane.

    James was a brickmaker and was a widower his wife annie emily having died in 1908
