A German Trophy reads: “Mr B H Martin, of 7 Station Road, Hastings, now engaged as collector in the sorting room of the Hastings Post Office was formerly in the Royal Sussex but was discharged because of wounds he received \u00a0at La Bassee on December 23rd 1914, he () the German eagle shown in the () a German Officer’s arm at Ypres. Mr Martin is wearing the South African medal, having served through that war. He has also seen service in India.”<\/p>\n
