  • Edward Daniel Tampion died aged 37 in the Hastings district. He was born in about 1883 in Mottingham, Kent, and married, about 1904, Lewisham, Gertrude Alice O'Neil.

    In the 1911 census he was at a 2-roomed dwelling, 101 Taunton Road, Lee, Kent, as a window cleaner, with wife Gertrude, age 28, born Kilburn, and a son and daughter. Two other children had died (the census asked how many children and how many were still alive).

    He was a Private, 13/26133, in the Training Reserve. He and his wife were at 71 Ennersdale Road in the 1918 Electoral Register for Lewisham.

    His widow died in about 1971 in Hastings.
